The Data Standards and Governance committee (DSG) recommends and oversees the formal data governance practices across the institution. This includes the creation and maintenance of policies, practices, and data definitions to ensure that institutional data is appropriately entered, maintained, and kept secured.
DSG is responsible for the data quality and data integrity of institutional data. Members develop and maintain data quality through shared understanding and best practices regarding data management, information systems, and processes across the institution. DSG members collaborate with other data stewards and data managers to ensure that overlapping areas work efficiently across the University. DSG members work with security and compliance staff to ensure that data are classified appropriately and appropriate training is provided to users who will be entering the data.
