Blackboard FAQ for Students

I don't see my course listed under "Courses"

Did you officially enroll? Course enrollments are synced over from WebAdvisor once you are enrolled. Additionally faculty will unlock their course at the start of the semester when they are ready to share content. If no one in the class can see the course, the instructor may not have unlocked the course yet. If you can't see your course after going through these steps, please contact us with your name and course name that you are missing.

How do I post to a discussion?

Asynchronous discussion posts are utilized to expand the course discussion on specific topics outside of class meeting time. See your instructor regarding expectations for the length (word count) required for a discussion as well as any additional grading components such as responding to the posts of classmates.

Create a new thread

From the course menu, select Discussions and the Discussion Board screen will open. Click on the Forum Title to open this discussion. Follow the instructions from your Instructor to complete your Discussion post assignment.

Click "Create Thread" and post by typing in the textbox or uploading an attachment file. Once you post you will see a message from Blackboard at the top of the screen indicating your success.
