NOTE | Courses that exist in Colleague will be created in Blackboard approximately 40 days before the start of the semester/minimester.
As a feature in Blackboard, the new courses default to 'unavailable' giving instructors time to build out their course in advance of students accessing it.
Step by Step Instructions
- Login to Blackboard
- Click on the "Courses" link in the Base Navigation menu.
- Find your course in the course list and click on the ellipsis.
- Select “Open course.”
Alternatively, you can control the availability of your course from within the course itself using the lock symbol in the top right hand corner of each page. If you are unsure of the status of your course, you can hover over the symbol and it will say either "Make Available" or "Make Unavailable" depending on the current lock status.
