Why use the One Button Recording Studio?

Pre-Production
Clarke 218 One Button Recording Studio can be reserved from your Google Calendar rooms and resources. Contact Rachel Bargery (rbargery@vwu.edu) to obtain the room code.
- Optional: Prepare your slides/overlay template and/or notes for your video.
- Wear light colored clothing for best contrast on dark background.
- Bring a USB drive.
Production
Log in to the desktop computer with your VWU network login.
Lights
- Turn ON the LIGHTBOARD illumination using the white button on the side of lightboard.
- Turn OFF the room lights for best quality recording.
- Press the “Sign” button to light up the “Recording” sign outside the room to prevent disruptions.
A blue light will trace the entire diameter of the button, followed by a flashing green light to indicate the light turned on/off.
Camera
- Turn ON the CAMERA/TVs.
- Drag optional notes to the display monitor.
- Drag optional overlays to the recording monitor.
Drag content from the desktop monitor to the LEFT:
- TOP: Notes or script to assist you in recording.
- BOTTOM: Overlay or presentation to interact with while recording.
Action
Follow the instructions on the Revolution Lightboard box:
- Insert USB Flash Drive
- Verify PULSING Record Status
- Press to START Recording
- Verify SOLID Record Status
- Press to STOP Recording
- Remove USB Flash Drive
Create multiple short recordings rather than one large recording for easier editing.
Post-Production
Remove your USB Flash Drive:
- You can review your recording using the desktop computer to access the mp4 file
- You can upload to cloud storage using Microsoft One Drive or Google Drive
Shut down all equipment before leaving the room:
- Press both OFF buttons using white button on the side of lightboard
- Press Sign button again and verify light is off on your way out the door Basic Video Editing
