Instructors can easily track attendance in Blackboard. Follow the steps below, or watch this video to learn how.
Start by selecting Attendance from the Course Tools section of the course menu.
To start, select Attendance from Course Tools, then click Add Attendance.
Select the gear icon to adjust attendance values and grade format as desired. These settings will apply to the attendance column in the gradebook.
Instructors that do not intend to include attendance as part of the grade can leave the default settings and adjust their gradebook accordingly (as described in a later step).
The attendance tracker will default to a single meeting on the current date (”Today”). Instructors can mark each student’s status individually OR apply the same status to all students by clicking on the header row in each column. Edits can then be made individually as necessary as shown in the video below.
To view attendance history and add/edit sessions, select Overall on the top right.
Finally, make any adjustments needed in the Grade Center column to suit your course. Grades will automatically populate based on the selections you made on the Attendance page.
